Aluminum Formwork

Aluminum Formwork is a revolutionary building system made primarily of aluminum alloy profiles. It is widely used in modern construction due to its superior properties such as lightweight, high strength, and excellent recyclability. This system is ideal for various concrete structure projects, including residential buildings, commercial complexes, bridges, and more.

Product Features

  • Lightweight and Easy to Handle: The aluminum formwork is significantly lighter than traditional wood or steel formwork, making it easier to transport and install. This reduces labor costs and increases efficiency.

  • High Load Capacity: With a load-bearing capacity typically reaching 60KN per square meter, aluminum formwork meets the demands of most residential building projects.

  • Excellent Durability: Aluminum formwork is highly resistant to rust and corrosion, ensuring a long lifespan and the ability to be reused between 200 to 500 times.

  • High Construction Efficiency: The installation and dismantling process is straightforward and doesn’t require heavy machinery. This leads to shorter construction cycles, typically reducing project duration by 30%.

  • Standardization and Versatility: The components are highly standardized and can be freely combined to fit different structural sizes and shapes.

  • High-Precision Concrete Forming: The aluminum formwork system ensures high precision in concrete forming, resulting in smooth surfaces that often eliminate the need for plastering.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: High-strength aluminum alloy
  • Weight: Approximately 20-25 kg per square meter
  • Reuse Rate: 200-500 times
  • Load Capacity: Up to 60KN per square meter
  • Time-Saving: Due to the ease of handling and quick installation, the construction period per floor can be shortened to 4-6 days.

  • Cost-Effective: Despite a higher initial investment, the long-term use of aluminum formwork proves cost-effective due to its high reuse rate and durability.

  • Environmental Benefits: Aluminum formwork is recyclable and produces no construction waste upon dismantling, aligning with sustainable building practices.

  • High Economic Value: When the formwork is no longer usable, its scrap value remains high, providing an additional financial return.

Steps for Installing Aluminum Formwork

  1. Lay out the floor slab area according to engineering drawings and tie rebar accurately with positioning ribs welded in place.
  2. Check the flatness of the concrete base slab. If deviation exceeds 8mm, it needs to be rectified. Clean the concrete surface at construction joints.
  3. Assemble aluminum formwork panels using clamps and wedges to create an integrated unit.
  4. Position the assembled formwork unit correctly, aligning it with the layout lines and elevation marks. Secure it with steel nails.
  5. At interfaces between aluminum and timber formwork for walls, install additional positioning rebar for reinforcement.
  6. Apply release agent evenly on formwork face before concreting, but do not over-apply.
  7. Install floor formwork, starting with corners, followed by beam formwork and slab panels.
  8. Position reinforcing steel for floor slab.
  9. Pour concrete and vibrate thoroughly for compaction.
  10. After initial concrete set, dismantle slab panels, beam formwork, and then wall formwork in sequence.
  11. Clean formwork components, sort and stack them properly for next cycle of use.

Following the correct installation procedure is crucial to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the cast concrete elements.

FAQs for the Aluminum Formwork

While the initial cost is higher compared to traditional materials, the high reuse rate and durability make it a cost-effective choice in the long run.

Aluminum formwork is versatile and suitable for most concrete structures. However, custom solutions may be required for projects with unique structural requirements.

Regular cleaning and maintenance are necessary. After each use, remove concrete residues and dirt, repair any damages, and store the formwork properly to prevent deformation and extend its lifespan.
